Alpha Engineers Work at Intel on New Itanium
As reported by Cnet, Pete Bannon,
one of the leading developers of Alpha processors and about 50 engineers involved in
with the development of this architecture, join Intel to develop new versions
Itanium processors. “Secondment” is the last stage of the technological
cooperation that began in 2021 and was the result of an agreement
on developments between Intel and Compaq Computer. Currently, there are already about 300
Alpha engineers are working at Intel on processors that will
released after Montecito, in 2021.
