ATI and Nvidia agree on pricing?

The Inquirer website, in its best tradition, suspects ATI and Nvidia of a truce in a price war. Journalists cite unnamed sources from which it follows that the companies agreed among themselves to slow down the price of their graphics products.

It must be admitted that the companies have plenty of reasons to agree with each other: huge funds are spent on the development of new chips, on the production according to 0.13-micron technological standards – too, and the percentage of usable chips is not always high. And if any of the companies postpones the release date of new chips to a later date, you also need to invest additional money in advertising.

It is becoming difficult to make money on the sale of chips with a profit margins dwindling before our eyes, but still rumors are rumors, and confirmation or denial has still been received.
