Kingston to start production of memory modules for Elpida

Elpida Memory, which ordered the production of Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation modules
(PSC), has placed orders for modules from the American manufacturer, Kingston
Technology. As the manager of Kingston Technology Far East (Far Eastern
branch) of the company, Kingston has already partnered with Elpida, but the latest placement
orders – the first case of cooperation between companies in Taiwan.

Kingston plans to start production of modules for Elpida in the second quarter
this year and monthly will produce from 100 to 200 thousand. memory modules. IN
Kingston currently ships 1.3 to 1.5 million. memory modules,
800-900 thousand. of which are produced for OEMs.

Earlier Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation announced plans to start production
modules for Elpida from April 1. By agreement with a Japanese manufacturer, Taiwanese

production.
