Not a day goes by without another message from Microsoft. The Wall Street Journal reported today that the company has filed a lawsuit against Lucent on charges of misappropriating the rights to own certain patents, which, incidentally, is suing Dell and Gateway. According to the newspaper, the lawsuit disputes the right to own patents for audio and video coding, displaying video information on a display and processing documents on touch screens.

Lucent, which received these patents after being developed in its Bell Laboratories, filed its first lawsuit against Gateway last year and a second lawsuit against Dell in February. Apparently, the companies were forced to seek the intercession of Microsoft, to which these technologies are directly related.
