IDF Fall 2021: a prototype of a personal portable server, version from Intel
There are only a few hours left before the start of the IDF, the first Intel forum for developers this fall, however, even this time, the journalists who have come to the forum are using it. The first report from our correspondent Dmitry Korostelev, dedicated to the arrival in Silicon Valley, appeared yesterday, and today the first details about the new products that will be presented during the Forum begin to arrive.
So, the floor to Dmitry:
In a press event prior to IDF, Intel showcased a prototype device called a personal server in San Jose, California. It consists of two blocks – the first in the photo looks like a wristwatch, the second – a small box that easily fits into a handbag. The wearable unit has a built-in wireless network interface and a capacious data storage device based on flash memory, while the wrist unit is a miniature LCD display, together with a kind of remote control for external devices with a wireless interface.
It is possible that in the future, people will not need to carry their PCs with them – just a block of memory with the necessary data and a wireless interface to connect to any external computers in order to use system resources, including the monitor and input devices. In the future, the memory unit and wireless network adapter are supposed to be integrated into cell phones.
Here is such an interesting conceptual move to warm up. Read more about the presented prototype, its concept and much more in our next reports from IDF Fall 2021!
