AMD unveils today at the show
LinuxWorld (runs from 5 to 7 August) OpenPDA PDA, reference design
we have already described.
PDA – Linux platform running the latest AMD Alchemy
Solutions Mobile Handheld Reference Design Kit (RDK).

As already noted, the software part of the platform is provided by Metrowerks and
includes embedded Linux kernel, multilingual user interface
by Trolltech, Qtopia, integrated Jeode Java Virtual Machine by esmertec
and Opera browser. Of course, the platform also provides for a certain set
utilities for synchronization with desktops, network support, etc.P. Development kit
OpenPDA Development Studio with Au1100 processor support is currently available
time.

Recall that the AMD Au1100 processor is now available in versions with a clock frequency
333 MHz, 400 MHz, is an integrated solution that includes
MIPS32 instruction set processor, integrated controllers
SDRAM, SRAM, Flash and EPROM memory; LCD controllers, 10/100 Ethernet,
USB, AC97, two SD ports, three UART controllers.
