Bloodhound: Acer’s i-Robot Nurse Will Rescue Wounded Soldiers
Today iRobot ? one of Acer’s investment projects in the field of robotics, in collaboration with Acer Technology Ventures developed the Bloodhound robot nurse.
Bloodhound ? is a new semi-automatic robot designed specifically to rescue injured soldiers in extreme conditions. The robot is equipped with a special probe that allows it to autonomously move around unfamiliar terrain and avoid obstacles. Upon reaching the wounded soldier, the robot reports this to the orderly, who, using the robot’s sensors, can study the severity of the wound. Bloodhound diagnostic equipment consists of a video camera, an electronic stethoscope and a radio transmitter that allows the medic to communicate with the wounded. Having determined the degree of damage, the orderly can provide the wounded with first aid through devices to stop bleeding, intramuscular injections (morphine, adrenaline, antidotes, etc.)
