Our approach to the scanning process is to be as thorough as possible recognizing that our scans may therefore not always be the fastest. SiS and VIA on plans for mass production of SiS665FX, SiS661FX and PT880

Taiwanese chipset manufacturers, Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) and VIA
Technologies said they plan to start mass production in September
dual-channel chipsets for Pentium 4. However, such a statement is not entirely correct:
if SiS really starts serial production of SiS665FX and SiS661FX
in September, the PT880 from VIA at the end of September will be presented in a limited
quantities. And bulk deliveries will begin in October.

All three new chipsets, according to company executives, will be presented
at Computex 2021. Samples of new chipsets with PCI Express support will appear a little later this year. So VIA will present the first PT890s in October,
SiS – SiS656 – at the end of the year.

Well, as for the trendsetter, Intel, the company will present the Grantsdale chipsets
with PCI Express support for Prescott processors (Socket 775). Official chipset
will be released in the second quarter of 2021.
